Arilan was bored.
Not that the candidate would have admitted that. If he did, then somebody would find chores for him to do. So, he was making himself look as if he was enjoying himself taking a walk across the bowl.
The queen should clutch any day now. But then there would be the long wait for the eggs...and then he was likely to be left standing.
He knew that. But he still could not wait. He glanced at his bronze firelizard. "There's going to be eggs bigger than you soon."
The bronze was not fully grown, but even if he was...

Andol was walking across the bowl. Though he had his face half hidden bye the new largest firelizard in his fair. Which was Clay. So he was not really paying much attention to were he was going and that was when he bumpped right into Arilan. The instant he did. He quickly covered his face with Clay and siad " I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." With out even bothering to look and see who it was. The brown firelizard that Andol holding just stared at Arilan curiously and the other brown and the blue who where on Andol's shoulders did the same.

Ife squawked as Andol all but bumped into his human, then started to scold Clay, who's fault it clearly was.
"Hey there, Andol," Arilan greeted. "I think my bronze is blaming your brown...is that a new brown?"
He was finding it somewhat hard to, well, keep track of all the firelizards and was rather glad he only, so far, had one of the little critters.

Andol though one to always think of his flits first said " It's not Clay's fault. You know I like to carry them like this so as to make it esaiser to hide my face. Though yes Clay is new and so is Sapphire here." He pointed to the blue. "Though I am using Clay to hide my face now becuase he is much bigger than Iron." Iron was a small brown. Clay was difently bigger.

Arilan shook his head. "You know, there's nothing wrong with your face. You don't need to hide it."
He still hoped Andol would Impress and his dragon would encourage him to be more outgoing. He reached up and scritched Ife, who crooned and leaned into it. "They're both very cute...almost as cute as Ife."
The bronze would be mad if he wasn't put first!

Andol just sighed and said " Yes I know." Though that was not going to stop him form hiding it. He did it more out of the fact he was attempting to avoid eye contact with others. Plus it gave him the felling of that was trying to hide while he had a firelizard in fornt of his face. Though both Clay and Sapphire chirped happily when they were called cute. They like to revice compliments.

Arilan kept running his fingers over Ife. "Does anyone here bite? Well, maybe a firelizard here and there."
At this rate, Andol would be too afraid to go on the Sands for the hatching and Arilan and Roasha would have to tug him out there! Not that he minded doing that, but...there had to be a way to help Andol get over his painful shyness.

Andol just nodded his head and siad " Yes. They do." He was not the type to name name's though. No matter how hard you pushed Andol you could never get him to admit that someone was beening mean to him. Andol was just really gald he had Clay, Iron and Sapphire. Not many people were stupid egough to mess with three protective firelizards and there pet.

Arilan shook his head. "Then bite back," he suggested. "That type, they go after easy butts. Prove you aren't one, and they'll leave you alone. Or set your firelizards on them."
The browns and blue wouldn't hurt anyone, but he was betting they'd give the person a pretty major fright. Ife was enough to make people duck and while Andol's were obviously smaller...

Andol just clucthed Clay to his chest and siad " I don't like to. I perfer just to be non conferntional about it." He then looked at his fair and said " Also I am not about to set my firelizards on anyone. My flits are all I have and I am not going to risk them getting hurt just to protect me. I will be fine don't worry about. I was used to it at the Hold and I will get used to it here."

Arilan shook his head. "No. If you won't stick up for yourself, then...SHards...think of other people they'll do it to if they start thinking they can get away with it."
He liked Andol, but if the guy didn't grow a spine, then...how could he handle a dragon? Arilan had no clue. But then, he bet Andol would Impress blue anyway, they picked the shy people.

All three of Andol's firelizards chirped at him. Andol knew that they would protect him. Clay rubbed his head agnist Andol chest. Andol then nodded his head and took the confendince he could feel form them to heart. He then looked at Alrian and siad " Alright I will stand up for myself form now on. Though I don't think I will need any help to do so." It was obvoius by looking at Andol that even without flit's he problery would not have any problems standing up to anyone physcially. Though it was going to be his flits that gave him the confedients to do so. He had gained that much form them.

No bully would mess with even the smallest of greens. Dragons were *intimidating*, especially ones you didn't know. Yet, he'd seen the affection between them and their riders...

Andol nodded and said " Don't worry I don't plan to hurt anyone. People have hurt me egough that I have learned that it is best not to hurt other. Though I can't speak for my fair." If they wanted to protect Andol was not going to stop them. He was going to help them. He smiled and siad " Yeah I dragon could protect me. Though I doubt I will impress. So it does not matter."

Arilan shook his head. "I bet you will...to some dragon who wants to get you out of your shell. Well, the dragon will be the one in the shell, but you know hat I mean."
He stretched a little bit. "Whilst I think I need a dragon who'll be good company and good to talk to...I couldn't stand doing sweeps with a laconic lifemate."
That would be boring.
