Andol looked over at Iron and thought for a few sec that maybe talking to this person would not be so bad. He wished Iron would come back over here to him, but he knew once the firelizard had made up it's mind then it was made up. He then said with less stammer in his voice "Yes all I c-a-n hope f-or i-s to imp-ress, but I highly d-oubt I wi-ll."

Arilan shook his head. "I doubt a dragon will care that you're shy, or that you stutter a little. He or she just wants the right person to fly with."

He privately thought a dragon, yes, might help this guy overcome his painful shyness. The firelizard had some of his attention. "Don't suppose you'd find an egg for me, little guy?"

Andol smiled a small bit at the thought of Iron trying to find a egg. He then thought in his mind that he could only hope that a dragon would not care about his shyness. He hoped it would only care for him. He said " I ho-pe th-at you are right that the dragons will c-are f-or m-e."

Arilan nodded. "And dragons tend to, I'm told, give their riders what they need. Support them, fill in for their weaknesses. You may end up with an outgoing dragon who'll help you overcome being shy."

And what kind of dragon would he, Arilan, get? He wasn't sure.

Barme thought about having a dragon that would be out going. The idea scared him because he did not want to be out going, but he knew it would probley be a good thing becuase then he would be so shy any more. He said " I can only hope so i-t wo.uld b-e ni-ce t-o ha-ve so-me-one to he-lp me."

Arilan nodded. "For me, I think it's the idea of having one absolutely trustworthy friend I can always rely on. I don't care what color or gender the dragon is, but I care about Impressing. I just need to not set myself up for disappointment by caring -too much-."

And the queen was unusual. Her strange color...he feared it meant she was infertile. He wondered if it meant she would clutch more strange dragons, like the big silvers.

Andol looked up at Arilan knowing that he was exactlly right about the dragons. He needed that trustwrothy friend more then most. Then at that moment Iron chirped and Andol looked down at him and remembered that at least he had him. Plus myabe Arilan would be his friend. He said " Yeah it would be nice I am sure I need so this dont happen again." He lifted his sleeve to show the 30 or so scars. He then put it back down and said " But if I dont impress then at least I have Iron."

Arilan winced, but didn't ask. "Well, it's not like there's going to be only one clutch ever, if we don't Impress in the next one that comes along, it certainly won't be a disaster."

He grinned and made scratching motions at Iron. "You do have a friend, though, albeit a rather small one."

Andol thought that he might impress later, but he highly doubted it just like he doubted all things that might happen to him. He then just looked at the other boy for a second when all of a sudden Iron took off form right out of Andol's arms and flew torwad Arilian. Andol reached out to try and cacth him, but missed and the firelizard landed on Arilian's shoulder. This visiable shook Andol because one he was in the presense of anthoer person and two because he did not have Iron to comfront him. He just looked down at the floor and could not really think of anything to say he just stood there and shook a little bit. He then said to Arilian in a extermly shakey vioce " Y-es I d-o hav-e a-t le-as-t o-n-e fr-ie-nd." He then looked at Arilian and said " W-i-l-l y-o-u b-e m-y f-r-i-e-n-d."

Arilan laughed. "Of course. Besides, I don't think your firelizard is going to let me leave if I don't say yes."

He so had to get himself one. The last egg he'd found had turned out to be a dud. "Iron, I think Andol would prefer it if you went back to him."

Andol smiled a bit at this and the fact that Arilan had said that he would be his friend. He said to him " D-on't wor-ry ab-ou-t Ir-on h-e al-mos-t never t-ri-es t-o g-et i-n o-th-er p-eoples way." Then Iron looking at Arilan chirped at him and took off form his shoulder and into Andol's open arms. The instant Andol had the firelizard in his arms he held the creature close and Iron rubbed his head against Andols chest try to comformt him.

Arilan smiled. "He's very cute, and very affectionate, too. A little more than they normally are, I think."

Most of the firelizards he had known had been playful nuisances, too cute to actually stay mad with and getting away with all kinds of insanity as a result.

Andol scratched Iron's head and said " Yeah he has always been like this since he was born. As though he was on some sort of mission to protect me. He though does not seem more affectionate then most firelizards I have seen. Of course I have not meet that many being I mostly keep to myself." Andol then began to pet Iron bettewen his eye rigdes and smiled at the little creature in his arms.

Arilan shrugged. "They probably vary, as to how affectionate they are towards their humans. He's a very nice firelizard, though. Has he sired any clutches?"

Andol though about this. He then turn Iron and looked the little creature in his eyes. He knew that Iron had sired one clutch it had been one of those days that had made him more happy. He just smiled at his little firelizard who then chriped at him. Andol then said to Arilan " Yeah he did one time, but that was one it back before I came here. It was one of the more happier days in my life. I was so proud of him." Andol began to pet his firelizard fondly while looking into it's eyes and smiling at it.
