((You forgot Sparrow!!! D:))
Seeing as people were still going out of turn despite what the Weyrlingmaster had said, Scaeva figured she wouldn't go again. She had done it right anyways. And no-one else had been going, so why not go when she had? Yes, Scaeva was happy to exempt herself from doing the name thing again.
Brishen sighed softly. People were still going out of turn, he had been the fourth one here and hadn't more than that many gone already? "Well, I'm Brishen," he said softly, "that's Roasha, Zadari, Scaeva, Crysania, Arilan... I like drawing too I guess." He shrugged slightly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And now there was another game... Joy. Running around? Brishen sighed a bit louder this time. He didn't want to run around much, but also didn't want to sit and copy teaching ballads... both were choices he would rather avoid really. Maybe the Weyrlingmaster wouldn't notice him, it seemed like she hadn't before since she announced the next game before he had even gone. So Brishen remained still. Once enough were running, maybe he would, but by no means was he starting the game.
"Really?" Scaeva liked the sound of this game. Just running around. Dive could make sure she won, although the girl had never quite developed a taste for klah. "Let's get started then!" She dashed forward, upsetting her fire-lizards again. Dive took off and began flying excitedly around the room, calling to the little flitt still clutched by its His. Shy and Kih tried to keep as close to Scaeva as she could.
Kett went over to the boy with that had sat down and passed him his writing utensils, and a teaching ballad that she just "happened" to have brought with her. She quietly spoke, "And what is your name, I don't think we got to you. Here, if you don't want to play you can copy this teaching song. I understand," Kett said this all with a sort of false sympathy tone, hoping that the boy would suddenly come to his senses and go out and run with the others. While waiting for the boy to giver her his name, she took a quick glance around the room, looking for any more disobedient candidates.
Andol looked as the candidate master came over and she asked him his name. He just looked at her and then looked that there were the others around the room. He was very scared, but he tried to struggle his name out. " M-y n-ame " Yet that was all he got out because Iron had heard the call of the flit that was flying around and struggled out of Andol's grasp and flew off to fly around with the other flit. Iron had left at the worse time and it caused Andol to freeze up. He just stared at the candidate master with fear and the others in the room. He was scared and the thing that he wanted the most at the moment right now was for Iron to come back, but he did not. Andol then started to mumble to a lot trying to say his name. He soon started hyperventilating thinking to himself that there were to many people in the room. He just wanted it to go away. He just hyperventilated and just said "My" before fainting and blacking out falling right there on the floor.
Kett freaked out when the candidate fainted in front of her. She quickly woke Haith up by saying to the dragon, This candidate, he just fainted. He froze up while saying his name and fainted!
Calm down mine. Give him room, I'll be over shortly. With that Kett realized that her Haith was coming to help, witch would be a big relief. Pulling herself together she yelled over top of the candidates and flits, "Alright, we are going to stop for now. Can someone tell me his name? He just fainted and Haith is going to take him to the healer, then we will continue. Can someone go down with him to the healer please?" As soon as Kett had said this, Haith landed close by, ready to help if needed. Kett didn't care if the boy woke up and said he was fine, he was going to the healer just to make sure.
Roasha was joining the game, until Andol fainted, and then she came over. "What happened?" Silly girl, you're not a real healer, she told herself.
Still, she couldn't...couldn't keep from caring, keep from approaching, even as the great red dragon landed nearby.
She wondered somewhere in the back of her mind if there would be more scarlets. They were so lovely. But poor Andol was her first concern. "I...I've had -some- healer training, ma'am."
Arilan called over, "His name's Andol, and I think he's just horribly shy, poor guy."
Iron the instant Andol had fainted did a complete 360 in the air and went stright back to His. He landed beside Andol's head and began to lick his face and rubbed his head aginist Andol's to try to wake him up. After a few mintues Andol began to stir. He was not sure of his surrondings for a second, but he did see Iron. He then saw the people that were standing around him. He quickly stached Iron up making the firelizard chrip in suprise and held the little firelizard close to his chest. He sat there just staring wide eyed at the people standing around him. He wished it would all go away. He then looked over and saw the scarlet dragon this made him relax a little, but the amount was barly nocticeable becuase unlike last time he had been around a person with there dragon near by. There were now a bunch of people instead of just one. He could usally handle one person at a time, but not groups. His eyes looked left and right looking at all the people that were around him. He just sat there not making a sound hoping it would all go away.
Seeing that the boy was awake, Kett quickly told the other candidates, "back up, give him some room." She then turned to Roasha and said, "Will you please take him down to the healers? I want them to do a check up on him and make sure that he is okay. Haith will go with you." Then she turned toward Andol and said, "Please cooperate with Roasha. Haith will be going with you if that makes you feel better. I am just going to be sending you to the infirmary for a check-up. If you don't feel good enough to walk, I can put you up on Haith. I will be ready if they need me. Have fun with the rest of class.
She then sent a message to Andol in a soothing voice, I am going to be right beside you if you still feel woozy or dizzy.
Zadari was very tempted to yell at the boy, but her attenton was fixed on Kett, anger flashing in her eyes as the dislike in them grew stronger. What ever Kett was, she was not her superior, finally getting to her feet, she scowled darkly, "Don't ever speak to me like that, ever." Her words were slow, a cold tone that would be enough to make most rethink their actions, she was so very tempted to hit Kett, that was clear in her face, glaring at the woman solidly. She was only a turn older, yet the woman was acting like she owned Zadari. "My name is my name, nothing, you dare treat me like a child, I've had all the training you have, I rode a dragon for a turn longer than you've had yours, I know my place, and I'll tell you this you arrogant tunnelsnake, it's not beneath you."
"I'm standing as a favour to a friend, to give the dragons more choice when Azarith clutches. I will not bow down to someone such as you, you want my respect? Guess what? You've ruined any sharding chance you had." Her voice became deathly quiet, coming closer to Kett as she kept a tight rein on her temper, "Go ahead, take away my status as candidate. Go on, make me normal again, take away teh torture that standing in white robes will bring me. Save me the dramatic act, the stern words Kett, you don't know anything about punishment. When you talk to your dragon, try and imagine every space she fills, every look of love, imagine that gone. Then you'll know punishment." She turned, movign to the back of the room before facign Kett with a deadly glare, "And don't ever call me a girl again, I'm more of a woman than you'll ever be." Then she chose a corner, and slumped into it, all other dramas happening, pushed back.
Kaiser sighed as he got to his feet, barely glancing at the boy who'd fainted, this game sounded stupid to him, and he'd get out as soon as possible, Crys didn't seem to think it worth it and scuttle to the side of the room, moving over tyo Andol cautiously, "I was a healer for the flitts." She murmured, releasing the golden flitter so she could go where she pleased. Delicately, the young gold landed on Andol's shoulder, softly humming to reassure him that people weren't all scary, she was nice, and so was her person, he wasn't afraid of a little gold was he?
Shiane had paled at the idea of running arou nd crazily, instantly sinking closer to the wall and remaining there, as long as everyone left ehr alone, she'd be fine.
Zinera was VERY late. She knew that. She had been conversing with her father's green. She arched an eyebrow as she survayed the classroom.
Zalren chirruped and landed on her shoulder. He eyed the other flitts. He cheeped a greeting to Chrissa, bobbing his head to her before greeting the other flitts. His tail was curled about his mine's neck. He was fully grown, and older than his owner by a few turns. He was also the oldest there in the class, at close to 20 turns in age.
Andol sat there his eyes shifting back and forth in ethier direction. When the candidate master said that he was go to be taken to the healers he did not say a thing. Then he heard the scarlets voice in his head and the gold flit landing on his shoulder these two event served to relax him egough to were he could speak. He reached up and began to pet the little gold flit and he said to the candidate master "O-k, b-u-t I th-in-k I f-ee-l li-ke c-an ma-na-ge wa-lk-ing." He then stood up abit wobbly and then walked over to were the scarlet was. It's closer proxiemty made him fill better. He then turn and said to it " I am ready to go."
Arilan narrowed his eyes at Zadari. "So, what, you're going to try and get another dragon, that will always know it's second place, second best?"
He didn't anger easily, but the trader lad's buttons were really being pushed now. "You're Standing for the wrong reasons. Even I can tell that. You won't be happy no matter what you do, and you should fix yourself, if you can, before inflicting yourself on a dragon."
He meant every word of it. "You should either make up your mind to want to do this, or leave." His tone was calm. Almost dangerously so.
After dealing with the fainting candidate, Kett turned back to Zadari. She quickly said to the girl, "As soon as you agreed to be a candidate, I became your superior. Please, either leave or cooperate. We do not have room for not people who don't cooperate. If you want to be superior to others, go elsewhere. If you don't really want to impress again, then it would be better if you maybe didn't. I would truly suggest thinking what you are doing over. While your thinking it over, you can copy these songs, the harpers need them copied." Kett raised her eyebrows at tZadari as she passed Zadari some songs that the harpers wanted copied. She wanted to see what Zadari would say, but before giving Zadari a chance to say anything she said, "Please, really think about what you are doing. I am sorry that you lost your dragon, but I am the candidate master and I expect good behavior from all."
"How could anyone respect you when right off the bat you are not even trying to respect them. You don't have any idea how it is to lose your dragon, she's still here. Leave Zadari alone for now. I believe she still hasn't come to terms with herself over losing her dragon. She is standing as a favor to Weyrwoman Jasmyn. There are many who think the new colors useless and pointless. As well as a waste of time and effort, we're going to need all the candidates we can get for when Azarith's first clutch is ready to hatch. Maybe you should give more thought to what you say and do before you do it, hmm?"Zinera said.
She had one advantage, she could hear every dragon. She could care less if she impressed, she could still hear them. She knew Zadari couldn't and that that was a blank void that Zadari's blue used to fill, but was no longer there.
Zadari turned to the boy, any colour in her cheeks had drained from it, a cold glare replacing the anger that had been there. "Don't patronize me, sharding dim glow. You don't know anything. Not about standing, or Impression. I suggest, that in the future, you only open that sharding mouth of yours when you actually have some facts to back you up." No brat was going to order her about, and more than anything, Zadari had definately had enough of being judged. She was sick of Kett and her stupid superiourity, and now, this boy was seriously annoying her with his know it all attitude.
"I wouldn't inflict myself on a dragon, as you so charmingly put it, if they chose me, well, their mistake. I would love any dragon that saw past pain and turmoil to see me, Sitath will always hold my heart, but now dragon would ever be second best." She sneered at him, "I wouldn't want to be your dragon either, second best to your sharding ego."
Finally she swung round to Kett, "Oh yes, you're all sharding sorry aren't you. You say that but inside you're thinking about how I neglected him, or that I wasn't a good enough rider for him. In your case, I'd suggest pulling your head out of your backside and back into Pern, it's not that sharding easy to forget and-- What?" Turning to Zinera with a schoked expression, all the fight drained out of her. Well at least she had one ally. "You're going to get in trouble." She muttered darkly, but graqtitude for her intervention showed in her eyes.
Zinera flashed a grin at Zadari. "I don't care that I get in trouble. I'm special, I can hear any dragon, all the time. So I know, in a way what I'm speaking about. My parents' green and brown talk to me all the time, well almost all the time."
Zinera shrugged a bit. Her bronze flitt, Zalren eyed Kett. He coiled his tail around Zinera's neck a little more tightly. He gazed around at the other candidates. Then his gaze returned to Kett.
