Kett smiled as she got ready to begin her little "meet everyone" day. She didn't know half the candidates that she was the candidate master over and so she had decide to hold a meeting where everyone could meet her and others, though it wasn't required she hoped that they would come. It had been Haith's idea and so she had gone along with it, since it was such a good idea. Smiling, she sat down and waited for the candidates to arrive.

Roasha did want to meet the other candidates, even if she was half afraid to actually do so. She made her way into the classroom area, a thoughtful expression on her face. She had tied her white-blond hair back for chores and the like. It made her look severe.
She supposed she'd have to consider cutting it if she Impressed.
Arilan made an easy path into the room. It wasn't mandatory, so he assumed a certain amount of informality, leaning against the wall as he regarded the scarlet rider who would be teaching them. The only other Candidate present so far was the pretty blonde girl.
He wondered what any of them would Impress. If they did. A dragon would be so great for seeing the rest of Pern with.

Scaeva bounced into the classroom with her three fire-lizards not far behind. Dive was chattering excitedly, hopefully there were other Candidates with fire-lizards he could meet. Shy and Kih were just trying to stay close to Scaeva and would just perch on her shoulder if the girl would hold still.
"Hullo all," she said cheerfully to the others present. It looked like only two other Candidates, and she saw no flitts... Dive would be dissapointed. Shy fluttered over to land on Scaeva's shoulder as she settled somewhat, although Scaeva was never really still. Kih wasn't far behind, although he looked around the room curiously rather than ducking behind her neck like Shy did. Dive landed on Scaeva's head, seeing as both her shoulders were taken.
Brishen was much quieter in his entrance, just sort of shadowing in to the room before leaning against a wall in a corner somewhat far from the other Candidates. Two girls, the Candidatemaster, and another boy... he had met the blonde already, that was it. The other one was sort of hidden beneath the fire-lizards perched on her head and shoulders. He wasn't quite sure he could stand having three of the hyper flitts...

Kett smiled easily at the candidates that had come so far. She had hoped more would come, but she could go ahead and begin. She quickly asked Haith, What should I do first?
Haith quietly responded Play a name game with them. Maybe the one where they say there name, one thing they like, and all the people's names before their name. You could then move onto some of the other games that you have planned.
Kett smiled and responded to her dragon that was almost asleep, Thanks Haith "Alright class, today we are doing some games that will help everyone get to know each other. What you do is you say your name and one thing that you like. Then, you say all the previous people's name and one thing that they like. Simple?" Kett hoped that they would do this well. She would go last to make it easier on them. She pointed to the blond girl and said, "Do you want to start us off?" Then she waved her hand to include the rest of them and said, "You have to remember people's names because we will be playing some other games too where you will have to already know everybody else's information." She then pointed to the girl with all the flits and said, "And we will end at you."

Roasha considered. "I'm Roasha, and I like redfruit juice." That was the first thing that came into her head other than dragons, and everyone here liked them, or they wouldn't be here.
Shouldn't, anyway. She wouldn't be surprised if some had come here to...escape. And wow, that girl had a good-sized fair.

Andol walked in clutching Iron tightly knowing that there would be other people, but he knew that he would have to come any way. He saw the other candidates and the candidate master. He just froze in the door way squeezing Iron so hard that he made a loud chirp. This made Andol released Iron a bit, but still he clutched the firelizard close. He saw the other firelizards flying around this made him smile, but his smile disappeared as quick as it came. He felt extremely scared and felt like he was hyper ventilating. He just stood there in door hoping that he would not be noticed.

It was no surprise Shiane was late, scuttling into the room with wide frigthened eyes. She was late, oh dear, everyone else was here, or most other people were and she just had to be late. "I-I-I'm sorry miss, I-I got lo-lost." It sounded like she was trying to choke the words out, attempting to move to the back of the room and avoiding everyone else as she did it.
Well, she had gotten lost, that and she'd been trying to avoid the argument one of the other candidates seemed to be having, Shiane hated confrontations, hated them, loathed them. Still, seeing they were playing again, Shiane merely slipped into to sit next to Arilan, hanging her head slightly to allow her hair to fall infront of her face. She rathered to look at the ground, for sme reason, the silvery colour of her eyes tended to unnerve people.
Kai gave no explination as he walked into the room, bowed quickly and moved into a free spot, he didn't really care if he got punished again, the Weyrwoman had already had a go at him, and most of the candidates knew it, even if they didn't know why. Most of them couldn't get near Crys lately though, not that Kai blamed her for keeping to herself, that little gold was jsut out right nasty. Jai was already fussing over a cut in the hand she'd given him before blinking between, back to Hers and out of Jai's reach. "Sorry I'm late." He finally spoke, shrugging lightly as if to say, 'what can you do?'
Chrissa swooped into the room ahead of Hers, eyes looking at each person before going to settle on a very jumpy Crys. Great, she actually had to sit with someone, she didn't want to, would have preffered to have chosen a spot in a deep corner and prefferably found a rock to live under for the rest of her life. Oh shards this wasn't fair, it wasn't enough that Jasmyn had approached Kai, and earned Crys the worst thrashing from her brother that he dared, most of the bruises showing in the slow, limping step and the awkward way she sat down. Kai wasn't stupid, he knew what would get him in trouble. Stroking Chrissa gently with the finally bound wrist, Crys glanced at her feet before speaking, "S-sorry miss."
It was Zadari's out bursts that could be heard half way down the hall, snarling at the two riders that held her arms, and kept her feet off the ground. "Let go of me you sharding dimglows!" A couple pof curses followed this before Zadari was dumped on the floor rather ungracefully by the two riders, the younger grinning at Kett with a friednly expression, "Caught her trying to hide in the caverns, miss." D'nor spoke respectfully to the Candidate Master, even as he subtly nudged the hissing candidate towards the others. Zadari didn't care if it was childish, she was older than any of them, she'd been through the lessons and she didn't want to go through them again. "This is Zadari, Kett, she might be a bit hard to handle, just give her a smack like this." D'ran grinned, bending over to lightly smack the back of his friends head, only to have her call him quite a few names that probably weren't best in the lessons. "I don't envy you miss." With those last words and a few last curses from Zadari, the riders left. Finally, the former blue rider sat in a chair heavily, a sulky expression on her face, "What are we doing?"
{>> Please smack her Kett, she's likely going to ahve to get carried to each of the lessons, and it's really quite tiring. >>}

Last? The Candidatemaster wanted her to go last? Scaeva snorted. She didn't want to go last... did she really think that she could remember all the names of the Candidates?
Well... of course she could. Scaeva was good at remembering names. But it's not like she wanted to say them all. No.
Her thoughts were briefly distracted as a girl was dumped into the classroom. Zadari... heheh, Scaeva liked her already.
Dive chirped impatiently, wanting something to happen and then glared at the boy clutching one of the few other fire-lizards in the room. Why hold it like that? Flitts deserved freedom. He chattered inquiringly to the captive, wondering why it didn't bite the hand of the boy holding on to it so tightly and escaping. That's what Dive would have done anyways, although Scaeva never did that.
"Well, since no-one else is going..." Scaeva looked around the room and glared pointedly at the Weyrlingmaster before smiling slightly. "That's Roasha, and that's apparently Zadari," she pointed to each girl in turn, "and I'm Scaeva. I like fire-lizards." All three of her flitt's chirped cheerfully.

Kett glared at the candidates around her. She had tried not to be to serious, but obviously she couldn't keep seeming so nice. Staring out the people going out of turn and the girl that was unceremoniously hauled in, she said in a quiet deadly voice, "This is an optional lesson, but those of you that are here are here, and none of you will disrespect me nor your fellow candidates by being disrespectful or not following directions. I want everyone to succeed and get another dragon, but I also want you to be able to know what to do, and the first thing I want is respect. If you are disruptive or disrespect me or your fellow candidates again, you can go running every morning with me and you can run after this class. I don't care if you can't fit it in, you will if you don't obey me. Now, since we can't seem to work this out, We are going to do this again and say it in an order that I give you. Roasha did it right, so she doesn't have to go again. To punish the people that were late, we will go in the order from witch you entered into this room. And Zadari, you will attend all lessons, whether they are optional or not as punishment for the fuss you made coming in. Also, you will run with me tomorrow. Now, let's get going with the name game. And for those of you that weren't here, hat you do is you say your name and one thing that you like. Then, you say all the previous people's name and one thing that they like. Can you do that without making a mess? If not, I run every morning and after this class." Kett was going to get strict if she had to to get her job done.

Andol looked at the candidate master she had scared him because he was scared of people that acted like that even if they had a good reason. He was little bit shaken by it. Iron who was still in Andols grasp saw the flit that was glaring at Andol and chirping at him inquisitively. He then rubbed his head against Andols chest to show the other flit he did not mind being held and then he continued to glare at it angrily to make it turn away and stop looking at his the way it was.

Roasha frowned a bit. She did what she was told automatically...which was part of why she figured her dragon's hide would be green.
She had been a child, then an apprentice, then a drudge. She had never had rank. She had never dared behave the way the other candidates were behaving. Candidates didn't have rank either, not until they Impressed.
Greenriders, of course, did have rank, of a sort, amongst those who still respected Pern's dragons. That was as far as her imagination could aspire.
But to behave like the rest were...shameful.

Zadari practically snarled at the scarlet rider, picking herself up to her feet and settling the coldest glare on the candidate master she could manage. She wasn't a child the woman could order about! If it weren't for need, Zadari wouldn't be standing, she wouldn't be a candidate, and Kett treating her like an inferior stung. "No, I won't be running with you Kett." She hissed, eyes flashing with anger as she stared at the other woman. Stern on not, handling Zadari could be like handling a proddy green. "I'll respect you, when you respect me!"
Dislike for the rider infront of her only grew, but unlike with others, it wasn't just jealousy at them still ahving their bondeds, it was Kett's arrogance towards her. She thought, she could order her around like a drudge? Well, Kett had another thing coming. "I won't run with you, and I'll come to what lessons I want, if you don't like it, do me a favour and strip me of my candidate status."
Not even Kai would talk back to someone in authority, that tended to get him into trouble, instead her went along with it, standing slowly after Zadari's words, pathetic lump, and pointed at each girl. "Roasha, Zadari, Scaeva. I'm Kaiser, Crys' brother, this is my flitt Jai and I like.. Well I suppose I like looking after Jai..."
Crys remained steadily silent, Chrissa perching on ehr shoulder and watching both women with a slightly confused look. They were yelling, Hers never yelled, yelling was for mean boys like teh one Hers didn't like. "Hush Chrissa." Crys murmured, running her hands gently over the golden flitts wings in a long stroke to calm her. She didn't want to stand, but did so, gazing at her feet for a long time before naming each person in turn, "Roasha, Zadari, Scaeva, Kaiser. Um, I'm... Crys, Crysania, this is Chrissa-" Gently holdiong the young gold up before pulling her back to her chest and allowing her to crawl up onto her shoulders, Crys shrugged, "I dunno what I like, I like Chrissa I guess..."
Shiane was remaining silent, the tension in the room was growing, and it was really, rather uncomfortable, the more acidly Zadari stared at Kett, the more Shiane was going to clam up and remain in ehr little box. For good if she could manage it.

Arilan had been trying to stay out of it. He'd ended up somewhere in the middle of the order. But Zadari was starting to really get to him.
If she didn't want to be a candidate, then why was she here?
He spoke up. "Roasha likes citrus juice, Zadari doesn't like anything, Scaeva and Crys like their firelizards...and who can blame them. I'm Arilan, and I like art."
He knew that Zadari was likely now to round on him, but it clearly seemed true to him.

Kett was feeling very unhappy with Zadari. "Listen here Zadari, I give you respect by calling you by your name, witch I feel you don't even deserve that respect right now. If you don't want to be a candidate, then leave. I treat you with the respect you deserve for acting up like an insolent child. At the moment, I believe it was me that was candidate master, not Zadari. If you don't like my punishment, then you can leave and not stand. You will run every morning and you will run after today's class and you will attend all classes you insolent child. I do not care who you once were, you are a candidate and I am above you in ranking, so I will treat you with the respect you deserve and if you prove to me that you deserve respect, I will take the running out of your punishment, if not, then the punishment will continue. Do you understand me?" Kett's eyes looked like they were flashing daggers at the girl and her face was stern, showing that she was not giving an inch of ground to the insolent girl. The girl wanted respect, well she would have to learn it. Then turning to the others Kett quickly explained there next game. "This game is a little hectic but I hope that it might help you some. What you do is you have to run around and not touch anybody. If you bump into someone or touch someone else, than you have to freeze. The last person still running gets to drink Klah, during as well as as soon as the game is over. I don't normally allow Klah or anything else in class during class, but I will allow the winner to have Klah during class. If you feel like the game is stupid or dumb, then you may sit over there against the wall and copy teaching ballads. Alright, you may began running as soon as you feel like it." During the last two sentences, Kett had been staring at Zadari with a stern gaze, almost as if daring the girl to protest.

Andol did not like the idea of this game. It meant he had to go out there were the others were and that scared him. At the moment the only thing that was really comforting to him was that he was completely ignored and the candidate master had not noticed him and therefore had not made him introduce himself which was the way he wanted it. He then moved further inside the class room and sat right up against the wall that was next to the door and hoped to make himself even less conspicuous to the others and hoping he would not be noticed. I was not as if he was trying to deify what he had been told to do it was just nobody had seen him so he decided to stay in his box out of everyones way. He sat down on the floor crossed his legs and sat there cuddling Iron close and looking into Iron's affectionate eyes so that he would not have to look at all the people around him.
