Roasha nodded. "And if not, this definitely isn't a bad place to live and work." She wondered what he'd think of her for all but admitting she'd be happy as a drudge.
Maybe too happy. Maybe she could use some kind of...challenge...in her life.

"No, it wouldn't be." Just living in the presence of dragons would be nice if he didn't Impress; Brishen figured that if he didn't ever he would stay at the Weyr. But he would rather become a rider than someone who just worked in the Lower Caverns...

Roasha glanced at the sky again. "I just hope that queen rises. Some seem to be worried she won't, that there's something wrong with her other than being, you know, an odd color."
If Azarith was infertile, then this entire venture was doomed almost before it began. If. She frowned, then shook her head. Pern without dragons was...unimaginable.

"I don't think that you could call her color being odd something wrong with her," Brishen replied in a soft voice. "But yeah, I do hope she does." He also hoped she really did clutch, a big clutch too. If she clutched but it turned out only being a few eggs... well, he couldn't imagine that would be a lot of help.

Roasha shook her head. "That's not my opinion, its that of some others." She stretched a little bit. "I don't care if the dragons she clutches are pink with purple spots, as long as they fly."
She smiled at Brishen. "And hopefully I'll Impress, probably a green." Azarith was beautiful, but aspire to gold? Not a chance. Green for sure, she wasn't boyish enough for blue and...eh. Who knew what might come.

"Mmm-hmm." Brishen didn't quite see the point of repeating another's opinion if it wasn't yours, seeing as it was really only spreading it. But he said nothing more on the matter.
"Me too, although I think I'll get a Blue..." At best, a Brown. He saw himself with no chance of a ranking male, and was perfectly happy with smaller colors. Any color, really though, he would like, seeing as he couldn't guess at what he could get right now.

Roasha nodded. "We'll see. Hey, you could Impress a bronze, you never know."
She had heard that sometimes the dragons' choices were...unexpected. Definitely so, in fact. She stretched. "So...we going to talk about dragons all day?"

"And you could get a queen." He smirked. One could never guess with dragons, as people were always saying and probably thinking. Brishen liked the smaller dragons anyways, they were agile and quick, despite their lack of stamina compared to larger colors.
Brishen shrugged. There wasn't a lot else to talk about; they were at a Weyr and that was a place for dragons and everything to do with them. Practically everything had a little to do with dragons though, so maybe the wouldn't. He didn't particularly care.

Roasha shook her head. "A queen isn't going to pick..." She tailed off, frowned and paused for a moment.
Then, she finally admitted, "a drudge." They'd all find out sooner or later. Best to be honest about it, she supposed.

"A drudge?" Brishen frowned slightly. Anyone had a chance at anything after being Searched. "Well, you never know." He echoed her words from earlier and smiled slightly.

Roasha nodded. "I just am not an ambitious person," she says, simply. "I'd -rather- have a green, anyway. They're pretty, they're fast, and they don't come with insane levels of responsibility."

"That's mostly why I'd rather get a Blue." Brishen didn't want to chance Impressing a Bronze and ending up with the responibility if it later caught a queen. He could never lead a Weyr, or even act as a junior weyrleader. Blues were, like Greens, quick and pretty agile too, which he liked.

Roasha nodded. "I hear bronzes prefer to choose ambitious people anyway. Probably golds, too." She shrugged a bit. "Need more greenriders...always need them."
She'd heard that when Thread was fought, a Weyr could never have too many greens. Not that she really believed in its return...

"Mmm-hmm." Brishen nodded slightly. They would always need riders for every dragon, but there were always more of the smaller ones. They would need Candidates who wanted them....
((no ideas... *dies*))

...well, candidates didn't always get what they wanted. "Why don't we go get some food?" Roasha suggested, reluctantly glancing over the sky once more.
No dragons up there now, just a small fair of firelizards playing tag above the bowl.
