Brishen watched as Torienath flew away from the Weyr bowl with his father on his back... oh, someday he would have a dragon like that. For now, he guessed they were headed for the feeding grounds. That left him with some time to just wander around the Weyr. Whether Br'kall would come back for him anyways was questionable, Brishen guessed his father expected him to stay in the Candidate barracks here, as he had started to in their last Weyr.
Well, he could go there eventually. For now he was in the Weyr Bowl, he was sure to run into someone. Maybe a dragon, there would be new ones here... they could make good subjects for drawing. Smiling at that thought, Brishen started walking, although he wasn't headed in any specific direction. Somewhere or other, he would always be someplace at least. All Weyrs had somewhat similar layouts, he could find his way around.

Roasha was wandering across the bowl, occasionally glancing up at the dragons or around at the Weyr in general. She was beginning to settle in, properly, the girl learning her way around. For right now, she was just enjoying the pleasant weather and a break from her chores.
When she saw the slightly lost looking stranger, she pursed her lips, finding the courage to approach him, albeit slowly and uncertainly.

Brishen couldn't help but notice the practically white-haired girl approaching him, and swallowed softly, his bad social skills kicking in. "Um, hi..." He looked at her curiously. She looked about his age but so thin.... It was always his habit to inspect anything he met, maybe sometime Brishen could draw them, although he rarely drew people as a rule. Not much contact with them meant not many pictures.
At least she looked as uncertain as he felt, that was a slightly comforting thought.

Roasha finally smiled. "Umm. Are you new?"
This was almost funny. It seemed to be an entire Weyr full of shy people. Too shy to be happy anywhere else, maybe? He was close to her age, she reckoned. She wasn't exactly -thin-, more -slender-.

"I guess." Brishen shrugged. He was knew to this Weyr, but not to Weyrs... so he wasn't quite sure what the answer would be. "I'm Brishen," he added awkwardly.
Another shy person? What a conversation they could make. 'Umm...' 'Yeah, umm...' He needed to learn to talk to people.
((erm... yeah, slender. xP))

"Roasha," the girl introduced. Then a pause. She glanced at his knot, and then offered, "Want some help finding the barracks?"
More candidates. Good. Unless they just wanted...no. That pearl-sheened gold would fly, sooner or later. She -had- to fly. Roasha had gambled her future on it, and she wasn't the only one.

Help finding the barracks? Brishen smiled. "No, I think I can manage. I'm just... wandering out here for a while." He liked it more outside anyways. There was much more to see in the Weyr Bowl than in the Candidate Barracks, most definately.

Roasha smiled. "You're watching the dragons, same as me," she guessed. "And it's way too nice a day to stay inside, I suppose."
She'd seen a dragon fly off from here...the other candidate's ride, no doubt. She was at least getting used to them...then again...
...dragons intimidated her way less than people did.

"It is." Brishen nodded. There weren't as many dragons here as he was used to seeing in the Bowl of his last Weyr. That was probably to be expected though, seeing as this one hadn't been around long. "It's nice to just watch everything going on," he commented absently.
Did she ever do that? Brishen had a habit of taking some time every day to just sit, think, and observe things... he wasn't sure how many other people did.

Roasha nodded. "And I'm not used to dragons, and trying to make sure I am before i end up walking off the Sands with one."
If she did. She still wasn't sure how likely that was. It was mostly the greens she watched. If she did get a dragon, that seemed the most likely. More of them, and all.

Brishen nodded. "Probably a good idea." Dragons weren't new to him, although they never ceased to awe him with their sheer size and pretty-much everything else about them. Their presence wasn't knew, but it seemed hard in his opinion to *really* get used to dragons.
"Any kind of dragon you think you'll Impress?" He glanced at Roasha inquiringly. Brishen would like an Earth, maybe a Sea... he wasn't sure about female dragons or one of the ranking males. If one Impressed him he wouldn't argue... but it wasn't his first preference.

OOC: This isn't NSW...get your color names right Roasha considered. "Probably a green. I don't know much about scarlets, if any more hatch, and I definitely don't see myself as queenrider material. I'm not...assertive enough." A pause. "Besides, there are lots of them. And I certainly don't mind. Maybe I'll ask if I can train as a dragonhealer. I was...almost a healer."

((xP... CORE Testing... my brain is all confused....*dies*))
"Mmmm." So she didn't think she could get a high-ranking dragon either. "All the colors are great," he agreed.
"Almost a healer?" Brishen raised his eyebrows.

Roasha nodded. "I was an apprentice for a bit less than a Turn. It didn't...work out. And they are."
And she was in no way equipped, she thought, to ever give anyone orders. She would die of embarrassment if she ever dared to try.

"Oh." Brishen nodded slightly. "Well, at least the dragons apparently think you'll be a good rider." Although there were plenty of the people they thought would be that never become one... but the majority of Candidates did, didn't they? He frowned slightly, considering.
