Name: V'ri
Age: 26
Rank: Bronzerider
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Looks: V’ri is of semi-average height for his age, leveling out at just about six feet. He has dark hair, thick and kept short to fit under a riding helmet. Like the rest of his family, he has a long, thin face but it takes more after his father in seeming stronger and attractively angular in its shape. V’ri’s eyes are light gray, rather like snow clouds. The rest of his complexion seems overall average- taking after his father again.
V’ri normally wears a pair of tall boots, dark pants, and a loose-fitting crimson shirt. Appearance is a big thing to him so he always keeps clean-shaven, wears fresh clothes, and does his best to keep himself spotless. Only after Threadfall and the occasional Gather is one likely to see him with his exterior at all mussed.
Personality: V’ri can be very proud and self-centered at first for his obsessions with his appearance and how much he likes to talk and his ability to turn conversations to himself or whatever he wants to talk about right then. Despite this outer shell of vanity, somewhere deep down he can be a little thoughtful and empathetic… but that is a part of him that rarely arises. For the most part, it goes only towards Decoth, and then only sometimes.
Although not what one could call a natural flirt as some men are, V’ri loves girls and his lust for winning what he wants gives him a tendency of at least temporarily ending up with their company. He has often inadvertently annoys them too, as he does most people, because although flirting may not come naturally to him, bragging does and he never runs out of good things to say about himself. To counter that, he is good at coming up with nice things to say about others, but whether he ever actually gets around to saying them is questionable.
History: V’ri, then Vatairi, was the pride and joy of his parents growing up at their little house deep in Naroon hold. He took after his father very much in appearance, tall, strong, and dark-haired. His gray eyes came from his mother, although they seemed much softer than hers. His parents were always full of praise for him from when he was young and it never changed as he grew.
V’ri’s first real life-changing experience was when his little sister Kay was born, when he was six. At first she seemed to make a big difference, a little baby apparently needed a lot of care. He thought that they were weird-looking and too noisy. Eventually Kay passed that critical stage and the family could pay less attention to her. While Kay learned to talk, V’ri learned a variety of truly interesting things from his parents who had returned their full devotion to him.
When V’ri was eighteen when he got Searched by a large Blue and its rider. The first Hatching he stood at he didn’t Impress, but at the second one just as a pair of Greens were getting in a fight, seemingly over a girl that they both wanted, a large Bronze strode straight up to V’ri with an V’riMine, your Decoth does not like how those two Greens are fighting. Let’s go away, and perhaps you can fill my belly while we’re at it.
The pair seemed to be perfect for each other, and Decoth grew very quickly into one of the largest Bronzes at the Weyr. Of course, by the time they were old enough to stop being Weyrlings, the new colors of dragon’s hatched, so Decoth no longer exactly the largest male color(and perhaps male) in the Weyr. With his usual distaste of the smaller colors though, Decoth seemed sort of against the new colors too. They were mutations, not the true dragons. V’ri thought many were very pretty, but kept his opinions to himself for Decoth’s sake. And this distaste of the new colors won't, by any means, keep him from flying any of the new females who happen to rise. He just thinks the original colors are better.
Pets: None
-If a Rider:
Dragon Name: Decoth
Dragon Age: 8
Dragon Color: Bronze; Decoth is a very large Bronze, probably one of the biggest of his color at just over 45 meters. His hide has a green-bronze shade and is fairly constant throughout. In V’ri’s opinion, he is the complete epitomy of a dragon and perfect in every way imaginable. In appearance, perhaps this belief isn’t too far off.
Dragon Personality:Decoth, like his rider, can be very vain and keeps his life very focused around himself. The only other being he ever seems to take the time to think about is V’ri. Decoth also loves to chase and takes part in nearly every Flight he can get in to. He has one several too, although often more through intimidation and strength than anything else. He isn’t a particularly creative or thoughtful dragon- he just enjoys the lust.
