Amirinth had easily teased R'keh out into the deeper waters where she could swim more freely. Now she arched in graceful movements through the water, circling her rider trapping him within her own self-generated little whirlpool. R'keh laughed, then spluttered as salthingyer sloshed into his mouth.
Does it choke you? Amirinth paused and raised her head to peer curiously at her rider.
Nah, it just tastes bad. Let's have a race. R'keh spat again and then grinned at her.
Amirinth gave her tail a swish. You know I'll win.
Maybe today will be different. To that clump of weeds out there, okay? Without waiting for her reply, R'keh began kicking his feet and pushing to the deeper waters. He was a good swimmer, although he knew he couldn't ever outswim a dragon there was no reason not to at least try for the heck of it.
But won't the weeds only wash further away if we swim up to it? Amirinth cocked her head, wondering if these were rooted and just tall or loose. Ah... well, it was R'keh's choice. With a powerful kick of her legs, she surged after him and soon was ahead.
The race took only moments, the weeds did wash further away as Amirinth approached but she darted at them and snapped them up in her jaw, dropping them on R'keh's head. Now even deeper in the water, he crawled onto his dragon's back and paused there, panting softly.
"Someday I'll beat you, just wait."
Some night. It could only happen in your dreams. Amirinth rumbled and started paddling in the direction of the shore.

(( Woo first Thread!! ))
S'cyn looked down at the long white beach from Rodath's back. Care for a swim today dear heart?
Rodath's eyes whirled. Seems a pair have already beaten us to it Mine...but yes, a swim would be lovely.
S'cyn smacked the big Bronze's shoulder and they began to glide down, but Verius had other notions. The little Blue Color-Phase fire-lizard, who was a very very dark blue today, shot towards the other dragon and rider that were already swimming.
The plop sounded as the flitter hit the water. S'cyn laughed and jumped from Rodath as they began to settle into the sea as well.
" Hello there!" He greeted the other happily. " Name's S'cyn in case we haven't met before, and the giant Bronze is Rodath. Even though he doesn't look that Bronze sometimes, I assure you he is." This was also said happily as S'cyn wrestled to take off his now soaked shirt.

Amirinth bellowed a happy greeting to the Bronze as he glided towards the water. She loved having dragon company for a swim. R'keh waved up to them in his own human greeting. This was a pair he thought he had seen before, but he was fairly new to the Weyr and didn't know many people yet.
Amirinth rumbled as the little Color-phase flitt splashed into the ocean. You should get a little cousin too, R'kehMine.
I've put it off this far, I think I'd rather not. He gave Amirinth's shoulder a pat and slid off of her as the Bronzerider and dragon reached the ocean's surface.
"I'm R'keh," he replied to S'cyn's greeting, "that's Amirinth." The Green gave the pair a dragonish smile and swam a little closer to the huge (especially compared to her) dragon. Her eyes whirled as she inspected his hide.
You look more like the sand on the shore there than a Bronze, she observed.
R'keh gave her a surprised look. Be polite!

Rodath rumbled. I will take it as a compliment from such a beautifully colored Green, dear Amirinth. I take no offense.
S'cyn smiled. " Yes, if he wasn't so large..he'd be an albino for sure. Other than his hide color though, he's a Bronze for sure!"
Just then Verius popped up and squirted water into Rodath's face. Rodath splashed the fire-lizard in retaliation, causing S'cyn to laugh.
" Would you to behave in front of our new friends!"

Amirinth gave Rodath an odd look and started swimming off again, looking sideways back over her shoulder at the Mineral. She liked him, yes, Amirinth liked anyone who complimented her. Come swim with Amirinth! We can go to the deep waters and swim fast like the humans can't. It is more fun.
R'keh briefly watched Amirinth and chuckled. "Neither of us mind. What's your fire-lizard's name?" He could tell from the blotches on its hide that this was a color-phase, one of the new types that he thought especially odd.

Azarith flew toward the ocean from the weyr. She bulged a greeting from her height before backwinging to land on the shore to let Jasmyn off. She lept again and took off for the deeper waters before diving in.
With a trill, Tidalwave rushed after her. Making a 'plunk' sound as he entered the water. He fairly well blended in with the water, but the seafoam speckles all over made it easier to spot him. He came up long before Azarith did. She came up shortly after the blue flitt.
Jasmyn sat on the beach, for now. She had a light tunic on of course, and shorts instead of pants, seeing as for now she was just going to be at the beach. pants would be uncomfortable. She smiled and waved a greeting to the two other riders there.

Rodath gurgled and shot after the Green into deeper water. His eyes whirled with the fun of this swim, new friends and one of his favorite activities.
" His name is Verius. He's a Color-Phase Blue, though he looks almost black today." S'cyn reached out and scratched the little fire-lizard's head.
S'cyn spotted the large Pearl dragon and looked around for the Weyrwoman Jasmyn. He spotted her on the beach just as she waved. He waved back in greeting and Verius trilled. Verius liked Jasmyn, well at least because she had a fire-lizard close to his color.
" Wonder why she doesn't swim?" S'cyn asked R'keh

Amirinth's eyes whirled happily as the Bronze followed her, but then she noticed another great shadow flash briefly by above. She quickly surfaced and looked around. Azarith too? Mymy, Amirinth has much company today! Want to come swim with Rodath and Amirinth, pretty Pearl? Amirinth tossed her head in a gesture for the queen to come and play. Hopefully she wouldn't try to act like a queen- regal and aloof. Amirinth preferred dragons who would play with her.
"Ah. So there colors change often?" R'keh peered at the little fire-lizard curiously, only to be distracted as Azarith and Jasmyn appeared. Of course he knew their names, although he didn't know the dragon or rider at all.
He shrugged in reply to S'cyn's question. "I dunno... maybe she doesn't like to." He glanced at the Weyrwoman again, wondering if he should invite her in.

Azarith paddled up to the other two. ~That would be fun. How fares your day and your mines?~ Azarith swam in a circle around the bronze and green. She was just happy to be able to swim. She loved swimming, and baths, deffinantly loved her baths.
Tidalwave took off, out of the water and came to settle in the sand beside Jasmyn. He curled his tail protectively around her ankle. He crooned softly to her.

S'cyn laughed a little. " Unless she can't, everyone likes to every now and then!" Verius echoed his feelings.
" Why not join us Weyrwoman Jasmyn!?" S'cyn yelled to her, waving and grinning.
Rodath watched the Pearl swim around them. Mine is good, and I am well. How are you and Yours Pearl Azarith? He rumbled happily in anticipation for games they may play in the water.

My day has been quite wonderful, actually. Amirinth gurgled happily. Her days were usually quite wonderful, getting to play with other dragons in the water made it even more wonderful. It was hard to find something that the little Green thought made her day less wondeful actually; things that made it better were all over. This was one of the greatest bettering things though.
"True." R'keh laughed. He waved to the Weyrwoman too. "Yes, come join us! It can't be very exciting just lying still there." Amirinth's 'better keep moving' personality was definately rubbing off on him.

SPLUNK
" Hey! Now that wasn't very nice Asemath!" Z'ald shouted half-heartedly at his dragon. Asemath had dumped off Z'ald near the shore.
Z'ald splashed to the shore and waved to Jasmyn. " Hello Weyrwoman! Lovely day, isn't it?" He sat close to her, but at a comfortable distance. He had just arrived, so he had missed all the frantic waving from the two men in the water.
Greetings my fellow dragons! Everything is good? Asemath greeted all three of the other dragons as he lowered himself into the water near the others. He was a light brown today.

Azarith rumbled softly with amusement. She tilted her head slightly as she reguarded the newly arrived brown. ~Good Day Asemath, how are you and yours? Mine's being a bit of a packtail.~ Azarith was refering as to how the fish had spikes all over their bodies.
She turned her head to reguard hers. "Yes, it is."She said in answer to Z'ald's question. "Sorry fellas, don't feel much like swimming right now!"She called back to them. Tidalwave was diving for rockmites and fingertails(I think that's it. I'll check in Dragon Song and change if nessicary.) and enjoying his snack.

Z'ald regarded the Weyrwoman and smiled. " Hmm..I wasn't really in the mood for one either, and you see what happened to me." He laughed.
Asemath bowed his head as best he could. We are fine...yes...Mine doesn't want to swim either.

Amirinth gurgled happily as the Brown joined them too. How fun to have so many dragons! Are you going to swim with us too, Asemath? Supposing they ever got started, at least. More dragons kept coming and they couldn't get started.
"Pity." R'keh smiled weakly at the Weyrwoman and waded a little deeper into the water. "You aren't going to leave now S'cyn?" He glanced back at the Bronzerider jokingly. The Brownrider and Jasmyn apparently didn't want to.
